Following the Grave Marking Ceremony at Union Deposit Cemetery, President Lemon set up a table at the Middletown 51st Annual Arts & Crafts Fair, hosted by the Middletown Area Historical Society (MAHS). The MAHS graciously allowed Harris Ferry space at the fair for free at Hoffer Park in Middletown, to which the chapter instead donated funds to the fair program and received some ad space. That advertisement, as well as the presence at the fair, generated great visibility to local residents about what the SAR is and its mission. The publicity Harris Ferry received seemed to pay off as shortly after several applications came in for membership.
Opportunities like this are coming in the future to help promote the society and the chapter, so if you have an interest in helping and talking to the public about what we do for Dauphin County, please reach out to President Lemon. The next public event like this will be at Hoffer Park in Middletown on Saturday, September 12, 2026.
