A tradition Harris Ferry has done for several years now is place Betsy Ross flags at the graves of our Patriot ancestors.  Registrar and Genealogist Curtis Aumiller placed 44 flags at Paxton Presbyterian Churchyard in Harrisburg, and Treasurer Denny Bobb placed 27 flags at Hummelstown Cemetery in Hummelstown.

The Chapter will leave these Betsy Ross flags out until Flag Day, which will then replace them with 50 Star flags.

Memorial Day is a sacred holiday here in the United States, honoring those soldiers who never got the opportunity to come home to their families.  In modern society, we tend to account for all veterans who have passed away, and Harris Ferry honors them with grave decorations.
